Short MessageService (SMS) empowers you to reach customers with targeted alerts and information, and enables customers to connect back to you. With SMS, you can send (“mobile originate”) or receive (“mobile terminate”) text messages of up to 160 characters.

SMS advantages

Are customers still using older devices that don’t have data support? Don’t worry. Text messages work with almost any device, new or old—no matter which brand.
Do you need fast, reliable two-way communications with your application’s users? Our SMS API lets you connect easily and quickly with any AT&T Mobility customer.
SMS uses short codes that make two-way interactions more convenient for both you and your customer. As part of our SMS service, we automatically lease a short code to you at no extra charge.
Unlike other native messaging solutions such as BlackBerry Messenger, our solution works across platforms, delivering content right to the user’s existing text message inbox.
